About The Festival

Our Pan Afrikan Festival (formerly Afrikan American Festival) is one of the major events that is held annually here in Rochester, NY. The purpose of this special day is to reach out to the community and celebrate our heritage and culture through music, dance, art, spoken word and educational literature. The Pan Afrikan Festival also serves as a platform for local artists to display their talents. In addition, the festival builds unity, pride, and self-esteem in an effort to improve the quality of life in our community. As a registered 501(c)(3), the Pan Afrikan Festival uses its annual Festival season as a series of fundraisers, the proceeds of which support our youth program.
